JAMMU, June 15: A drug peddler was arrested with 5 grams of heroin from Bishnah area here today.
A police spokesperson said that a team of Bishnah Police Station led by SHO concerned, Inspector Vikram Sharma, under the guidance of SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna and overall supervision of SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, stopped a pedestrian for checking at Mehmoodpur but the latter didn’t stop and rather tried to escape from the spot.
On this, the police party swung into action and overpowered the suspect, he said, adding that when he was put to search, 5 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
The accused identified as Nipun Saini of Greater Kailash Jammu has been booked in case FIR number 151/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah.
“Further investigations are on,” said the police spokesperson.
