JAMMU, Oct 22: Police in Gandhi Nagar area here claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered from his possession 8 grams of heroin.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Police Station Gandhi Nagar led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma and assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Pankaj Sharma, while on patrolling duty near Shamshan Ghat, Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, rounded up one suspect.
During search of the suspect identified as Sonu Randhawa of Valmiki Colony, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, he said, 8 grams of heroin was recovered.
The accused has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 249/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigation taken up, added the police spokesperson.
