Drug peddler held with heroin

JAMMU, Jan 2: A drug peddler was arrested with 5 grams of heroin by Jammu and Kashmir Police in the jurisdiction of Police Station Janipur today.
Farhan Shah of House number 194, Palace Road, Ustad Mohalla, Pacca Danga, Jammu, was arrested with the consignment when he was driving towards Bantalab area to sell drugs among the youth, a police official said.
Accordingly, he said, the accused was booked in case FIR number 145/2024 under sections 8/21/22/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Janipur and further investigation taken up.
The arrest was made by a team of Police Station Janipur led by SHO concerned Inspector Pawan Dogra under the supervision of SDPO City West Dr Satish Bhardwaj, SP North Vivek Shekhar, and overall supervision of SSP Jammu Joginder Singh.
Pertinently, this was the seventh FIR registered in the last 30 days under the zero-tolerance policy against the menace of illegal drug trade.
