KATHUA, Mar 13: Continuing its crackdown on drug trafficking, the police team of Police Post (PP) Hatli apprehended a drug peddler and recovered approximately 2.43 grams of heroin (chitta) in its jurisdictional area.
Acting on an intelligence input from a reliable source, a team led by PSI Shubham Mahajan, In-charge of PP Hatli, set up a special naka (checkpoint) and intercepted the accused. The arrested individual was identified as Mohd Sadiq, son of Mohd Shafi, a resident of Maggar Khad, tehsil and district Kathua. Upon searching, the police found the narcotics in his possession.
The recovered contraband was seized on the spot, and the accused was taken into custody. A case has been registered under FIR Number 128/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Kathua, and further investigation is underway.
