JAMMU, Mar 14: A drug peddler was arrested with 18 grams of heroin-like-substance from RS Pura area here, police said.
They said a patrolling party of Police Station RS Pura found one person in suspicious conditions on March 13 at Agra Chak road near Shamshan Ghat, who tried to flee on seeing the police.
“He was chased and successfully overpowered,” police said, adding that the suspect was later identified as Mustaq Ahmed of Gujjar Basti, Kadyal, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
On search of the suspect, 18 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered, they said.
The accused has been accordingly arrested and booked in case FIR number 47/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
