JAMMU, Dec 3: A drug peddler was arrested with 2.62 grams of heroin-like-substance in RS Pura area here today.
During routine patrolling at Agra Chak, one Atul Choudhary of Puro Bhana, RS Pura, was arrested with the consignment on December 2, 2024, said a police official.
Accordingly, he said, the accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 257/2024 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura.
Notably, Atul Choudhary is a habitual offender with a history of involvement in multiple cases as several FIRs have been registered against him under the NDPS Act and Arms Act at different police stations in the region.
His father, Narinder Pal alias Bulla, was also detained under the PIT NDPS Act earlier, and is currently lodged in District Jail Kathua and his mother Tara Devi, was also recently arrested in case FIR number 152/2024 under sections 8, 21, 22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura.
