KATHUA, Feb 11: Government Railway Police (GRP) in Kathua district claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered from his possession 6.5 grams of heroin-like-substance worth Rs 2 lakh in the international market.
A GRP official said that Jatinder Singh of Ward 12, tehsil and district Kathua, was arrested with the consignment by a team of GRP from the area falling within their jurisdiction.
Accordingly, the accused was booked in case FIR number 01/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station GRP Kathua and further investigations started, he said.
According to him, this is the second narcotics related case registered by the GRP Kathua in the year 2025.
