Drug peddler held with heroin-like-substance

JAMMU, Apr 27: Police claimed today that they have arrested a drug peddler and recovered from his possession 50 grams of heroin-like-substance.
A police spokesperson said that a party of Miran Sahib Police Station led by SHO concerned, Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq, assisted by PSI Mahroof Ahmed under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura, Nikhil Gogna, stopped a person riding a bullet motorcycle for checking but the latter tried to flee from the spot.
He, however, was apprehended by the alert police personnel, said the spokesperson.
During search of the biker identified as Janamjit Singh of Seri Morh, Rehambal, Udhampur, he further said, 50 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered.
“The accused has been booked in case FIR number 88/2023 under sections 8/21/22/60 of the NDPS Act registered at Miran Sahib Police Station and further investigation taken up,” added the police spokesperson.
