Drug peddler held with heroin-like-substance

KATHUA, Sept 2: A drug peddler was arrested with 5.6 grams of heroin-like-substance from Billawar area here today.
A police spokesperson said that Mohammad Arshad of Dramani, Billawar, was arrested with the consignment by a team of Police Station Billawar led by Inspector Jatinder Singh, SHO Billawar, under the supervision of SDPO Billawar, Surinder Khadyal during routine naka checking.
The accused has been booked in case FIR number 124/2023 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Billawar, he said, adding that a motorcycle used in the commission of the offence has also been seized.
Further investigation is underway, added the police spokesperson.
