JAMMU, Jan 21: An alleged drug peddler was arrested with 9 grams of heroin-like-substance from RS Pura area here today.
A police spokesperson said that during routine patrolling duty at Agra Chak area near Shiv Temple, a biker, later identified as Sadiq Ali alias Kaka of Agra Chak, RS Pura, tried to flee on seeing the police party under suspicious circumstances.
He was overpowered by the alert jawans and on search of his belongings, 9 grams of heroin-like-substance was recovered, said the police spokesperson.
The accused has been accordingly booked in case FIR number 21/2024 Under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation taken up.
