JAMMU, Feb 26: Police arrested a drug peddler along with large quantity of intoxicant tablets from Mrakhrie Mohallah area, falling under the jurisdiction of Gangyal police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal police station laid a naka near Mrakhrie Mohallah and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 600 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the person and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Ajay Kumar Gupta, son of Satpal Gupta of Model Town, Gangyal.
A case under FIR Number 20/16 under NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gangyal police station Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta, South Shaazad Salaria and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
