JAMMU, Aug 9: A drug peddler was arrested with 210 grams of opium-like-substance in Bishnah area here today.
A police official said that during routine patrolling duty at Mehmoodpur, a person coming from Jammu side in his private vehicle tried to suspiciously jump the police naka on seeing the police.
On this, he said, the alert police team overpowered the suspect, later identified as Ravinder Singh of Sainik Colony, Jammu, and on search of his belongings, recovered 210 grams of opium-like-substance.
According to him, the accused has been arrested and booked in case FIR number 112/2024 under sections 8/18/25 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure was made by a team of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and overall guidance of SP Headquarters and SSP Jammu.
