Drug peddler held with over 2 kg charas

KISHTWAR, Mar 10: Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered two and half kilograms of charas from his possession.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Kishtwar police station laid a naka at Pardyarna in Nagseni block and noticed a person moving suspiciously.
During his checking, police recovered 2.5 kilograms of charas from his possession and was arrested on the spot, spokesman said, adding that the drug peddler has been identified as 50-year-old Mohd Qasim, son of Saia Gujjar of village Hoila.
A case under FIR number 27/13 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Kishtwar and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO Kishtwar Mushtaq Ahmed made the arrest under the direct supervision of DySP DAR Mushtaq Ahmed Sheikh and SP Kishtwar, Kulbir Singh.
