JAMMU, Dec 18: A drug peddler was arrested with 8 kilograms of poppy straw-like-substance from Balleni Pull area of Sub-Division Nagrota.
A police official claimed on December 17, 2024, a party of Police Station Nagrota deployed for naka checking/patrolling at Balleni Pull area intercepted a Mahindra vehicle (JK03H-2494).
On search of the vehicle, he said, a bag containing 8 kilograms of the poppy straw was recovered.
Accordingly, the police official said that the driver of the vehicle identified as Imtiaz Ahmed of Nandni, Suketar, tehsil Dansal, district Jammu, and his associate identified as Mohammad Danish of Saryal Choha, Tehsil Majalta, district Udhampur, were arrested and booked in case FIR number 326/2024 under sections 8/15/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Nagrota and further investigation taken up.
