KISHTWAR, Nov 15: Kishtwar police smashed a well knit drug racket with the arrest of a conduit along with cannabis.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Kishtwar Police Station laid a naka near Dak Bungalow and intercepted a person.
During checking, police recovered 1.5 kilograms cannabis from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Tulsi Dass, son of Kunj Lal, a resident of Heya Tagood, tehsil Mughal Maidan, district Kishtwar.
A case under FIR Number 233/17 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigations started.
Police team led by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Sameer Jillani made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Nihar Ranjan and SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary.
When contacted, SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary informed that during the interrogation the accused stated that to prolong his drug peddling activities he used to use women and school going children to avoid police action. The police has successfully smashed the drug racket in Tagood area and few more arrests will be made shortly in this regard, SSP added.
