SRINAGAR, May 5: Police today booked a notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla and shifted him to Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu.
The notorious drug peddler, Farooq Ahmad Chopan @Beta son of Ghulam Hassan Chopan, resident of Watergam Wagoora Baramulla has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority, police said.
“…Many cases were registered against the said drug smuggler and was involved in promoting the drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Kreeri and other areas of District Baramulla. Despite his involvement in many FIRs he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth,” police said.
