JAMMU, Mar 4: Drugs and Food Control Organization closed down eight establishments for contravening certain provision of Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules.
During the drives conducted at Srinagar, Mohd Younis, Licensing Authority (Retail) suspended the operations of seven establishments for two to five days.
The establishments were identified as M/s Friends Medicate, SMHS, M/s OPD Chemists, SMHS, M/s Darul Shafa Medicate, SMHS, M/s Tawakal Pharmacy, SMHS, M/s Kaloo Medicate, SMHS, M/s Lutfan Medicate, SMHS and M/s Chinar Medicate, SMHS.
In another incident, 4900 capsule amounting Rs 35,000 approximately of drug tramdol were seizes from the premises of M/s Suraj Mediate, Ban Ganga, Katra, district Reasi. Licensing Authority (Retail) Munish Gupta has suspended the operation of the said licensee for a period of one month.
