Drugs supplier among two arrested with narcotics

JAMMU, May 12: Nagrota and Banihal police arrested two persons including a drugs supplier recovering narcotics from their possession.
As per police sources, a drugs supplier has been arrested along with large quantity of narcotics from Upper Paloura area by a police team led by SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma, SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania and Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Pervez Ahmed Khandey alongwith Executive Magistrate 1st Class Nagrota Dinesh Anthal.
The arrested person has been identified as Zulfkar Hussain Ganai, son of Jalal-ud-Din Ganai of Upper Paloura, Roop Nagar Jammu.
During the raid in the house of the accused, police teams recovered 230 intoxicant injections, 570 used injection syringes, 41 needles and cash amounting to Rs 1,30,000.
A case under FIR Number 202/19 under section 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act and 353 RPC has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on specific information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near T-Chowk and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02CG-7347.
During checking, police team recovered 100 grams of heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Toni Kumar, son of Chajoo Ram of Sikanderpur Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu. During preliminary questioning, the accused disclosed that he had bought the consignment from Sangam area and was meant for selling to youth in Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 57/19 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aijaz Ahmed Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
