DODA, Nov 24: Police today arrested a driver in drunken condition after his vehicles met with an accident.
Police sources informed that a car of EECO make bearing registration number JK06A-9503 was being driven by one Rajesh Kumar, son of Dhiyan Singh, resident of Batroo, Khellani.
While coming from Jammu, the vehicle met with an accident near Bhata Morh, Assar leaving the passengers travelling in it injured.
After getting the information about accident, a Police party from Police Station Assar rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation and shifted the injured persons to PHC Assar.
The EECO vehicle along with a bus and one other vehicle were carrying a marriage party from Jammu to Bulandpur area of Assar and were travelling during night hours through Assar area which is mostly hilly with tough terrain.
Police found the driver of EECO vehicle and few other persons of the marriage party in drunken condition.
In this regard, a case in FIR number 22/2023 was registered under relevant section at Police Station Assar and investigation started.
Police has arrested the driver for driving in drunken condition besides few other persons of the marriage party who were found in drunken condition, are also being booked for abetment.
Police had to depute cops for shifting the marriage party to their homes in Bulandpur area of Assar.
