Dry weather to continue in Valley

SRINAGAR, Nov 27: People in Kashmir would continue to face respiratory problems as there is forecast of dry weather for at least this week.
Director Meteorological Department, Sonam Lotus said the weather will remain cloudy for the next two days with no chances of precipitation in the plains. “Weather will remain dry till December 3 with cloudy sky for next two days in plains. However, occasional, light snowfall is likely to occur in higher reaches,” he said.
The weatherman said that the temperature may change by few notches and “no major change in weather is expected till December 3”. A Meteorological Department official said that Pahalgam recorded coldest night in Kashmir where minimum temperature settled at -3.1 degree Celsius while maximum temperature was recorded 11.2 degree Celsius. He said minimum temperature in Srinagar settled at -0.4 degree Celsius while day temperature was recorded at 13.2 degree Celsius.
Qazigund recorded 13.7 degree Celsius maximum temperature while minimum temperature settled at -1.6 degree Celsius. Kokernag in South Kashmir recorded 12.7 degree Celsius maximum temperature and 1.1 degree Celsius minimum temperature. The day temperature in Kupwara settled at 15.3 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was -1.8 degree Celsius.
Leh recorded a maximum of 9.1 degree Celsius while minimum temperature settled at -8.5 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in Kargil was recorded 9.0 degree Celsius while night temperature settled at -10.4 degree Celsius.
