KISHTWAR, May 27: Director School Education (DSE) Jammu, Ashok Kumar Sharma today conducted a comprehensive visit of District Kishtwar and chaired a crucial meeting with Principals and Heads of Institutions (HoIs) to review the educational scenario and formulate strategies for enhancing educational infrastructure and quality in the district.
The meeting was attended by Joint DSE Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban, Dharinder Sharma; Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar, R.K Vesheshta; DIET Principal Kishtwar, Prehlad Bhagat; Deputy CEO, Masood Hussain Qazi along with all Principals, Zonal Education Officers, Heads of Clusters and HoIs of high schools in the district.
Ashok Kumar Sharma reviewed a detailed presentation on the educational profile of the district and directed for improvement through proactive measures.
He observed gaps in key indicators and deliverables and stressed on the importance of bridging these gaps.
Emphasis was placed on mobilizing resources for implementation of pre-primary classes in alignment with NEP-2020 guidelines, maintaining the student-teacher ratio and strengthening ‘AGHAAZ Labs’ in all clusters to spark student interest in science.
Ashok Sharma highlighted the need to intensify enrolment drives, involving teachers, parents and School Management Committees (SMCs) to ensure no student is left out of school, thus preventing dropouts. Strategies for the saturation of the Back to School initiative were also discussed.
The Director emphasized a rational approach to utilizing available resources efficiently to achieve educational excellence at par with district standards.
Stress was laid on timely completion of projects under SAMAGRA, UT and District Capex.
The Director called for ensuring teachers/staff punctuality and implementation of biometric attendance for real-time monitoring.
Discussions were also held on promoting CAL/ICT Centres, strengthening girls’ hostels for students from remote areas and ensuring the on time provisions of free textbooks and uniforms at elementary level at the onset of current educational session.
The need for e-office implementation, remedial classes, capacity-building workshops for HoIs, DDOs and teachers was also underscored during the meeting.
CEO Kishtwar was directed to ensure timely disposal of regularization cases for ReTs and RRTs and one-time exemption cases.
Later, DSE Jammu inspected the ongoing construction work of remodeling GHSS Boys Kishtwar under UT Capex Budget and assessed the pace and progress of the work.
Sharma also interacted with staff of DIET Kishtwar and reviewed it’s functioning.
