DSEK closes JKTF office in DIET Bemina

Srinagar, Feb 25: There seems to be no end to the tussle between Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Shah Faisal and Jammu and Kashmir Teachers’ Forum (JKTF) with latest being the closing down of ‘Union Office’ by the former at District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Bemina here.
The JKTF accused the DSEK of barging into its office and throwing subsequent vandalism. Qayoom Wani, the Forum chairman who has been at logger heads with Faesal, said today morning he barged into their office by breaking its lock.
“He tore apart the banners that were hanging on the walls and then burnt our files in open,” Wani alleged and said the DSEK is behaving not as a Director or IAS officer. The JKTF, following the incident, lodged a complaint against the DSEK with police.
On the other side, the DSEK Shah Faesal denied to have entered the office of the Forum and said no such accommodation has been allotted to any Union.
“We have never allotted any office to teachers of any union in the DIET office. So there is no question of breaking open the doors or removing banners. I went to the DIET office which belongs to the Education Department not the so-called union,” he said.
