SRINAGAR, Mar 28: The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir’s (DSEK) Central and North wing has warned the private schools not to resort to arbitrary hikes in the fees while impressing upon the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of districts to conduct inspections to keep a check on the matter.
In a circular issued in this regard, it has been stated that it has come to the notice of this Directorate that some parents of students studying in Private Schools in Central & North Kashmir are openly coming to Social Media/Print & Electronic Media to express their anger and grievances concerning overcharging of various fees like admission fee, tuition fee & bus fees by the Private Institutions/Schools to the students in brazen violation of rules/regulations and cannons prescribed by the FFRC.
This has been viewed very seriously by the higher authorities; parents, and students who have to bear the brunt of the onslaught of unilateral hikes of fees by the School Management who are always in search of opportunities to give a hike to the fee in any Head/Sector without any plausible justification.
It said that the Private School Management has become so arrogant that they withhold the results of the Students who don’t pay advance fees.
The authorities have warned the Private School Management to remain careful in future while going for a review/revision or hike in fees and shall immediately consult the Chief Education Officers Zonal Education Officers concerned and the Parents Body of that school and move a proposal for any such change/review/revision (or) hike so that the menace of overcharging of fees, exorbitant Admission fees are streamlined as per standard of the school.
