JAMMU, June 6: The Dogra Sahayata Kendra will make arrangements for providing food and other assistance to patients and their attendants referred to Jammu from district Ramban and other far flung areas, including Ambulance services within the Municipal limits of Jammu.
This was disclosed by Th Gulchain Singh Charak, former minister and Chairman, Dogra Sahayata Kendra in a statement issued today after holding a joint online Zoom meeting with members of the Ramban Unit of Dogra Sahayata Kendra and its Central Coordination Committee. He said that Dogra Sahayata Kendra will also distribute kits containing masks, hand sanitizing items and information pamphlets, besides creating awareness about SOPs to be followed for prevention of spread of COVID-19 in district Ramban.
While observing that the situation in Ramban seems to have been brought under control with the number of positive cases having come down from over 3000 to around 750, as reported by the Unit members, he cautioned that there was no scope for complacency and it was necessary that the people as well as the authorities maintain a high level of vigil and follow the SOPs strictly so that there is no further spurt in the number of positive cases in the district.
Charak appreciated the good job done by the District Administration and Health authorities in Ramban in tackling the crises, as ascertained from members of the Ramban Unit of the Dogra Sahayata Kendra. He underlined the role of the members of the Unit in continuing to maintain liaison, actively, between the health authorities, Panchayati Raj Institutions and members of the public to help in ensuring that the covid care centres being provided by the Administration at the Panchayat level are adequately equipped and staffed and the affected persons are taken care of properly.
He said that the DSK is also making efforts to educate the public that persons who become COVID-19 positive should contact the concerned health authorities immediately, for proper care and attention, so that the infection is not allowed to spread further.
Amongst others who participated in the Zoom meeting included, Ajay Khajuria, Dr Purshottma Sadhotra, Col (Retd) Karan Singh Jamwal, Samar Dev Singh, Deepak Gupta, Dharam Chand, Prof Sandhur Singh Bhalwal, Shubam Anthal, Surjeet Singh Thakur, Mohit Chand and Suresh Sharma.
