JAMMU, Aug 7: Kavita Sharma, the District Sericulture Officer (DSO) Jammu, visited Gorda Village in Gharota today.
During her visit, she engaged with silkworm rearers, attentively addressing their concerns and sharing insights into modern rearing techniques.
This endeavor was met with deep gratitude from the local community, as it marked the first time in the past 2-3 decades that an official had ventured into this remote area.
Kavita Sharma played a pivotal role in enlightening the villagers about the significance of the silk industry and its role as a major source of livelihood. Her effort to educate them on the industry’s importance demonstrated her commitment to empowering the local populace with valuable knowledge.
