DSS launches BD Bari Chapter, announces working body

JAMMU, Feb 26: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) announced the names of the recently appointed office bearers of the BD Bari Chapter of the DSS.
The meeting was held in this connection under chairmanship of DSS president , Th Gulchain Singh Charak  at Bari Brahmana, in which scores of enthusiastic participants from 13 blocks  participated.
The newly appointed ward presidents  included Sanjay Singh Manhas, Abdul Malik, Zorawar Singh Chib, Joginder Sharma, Narayan Chib, Sandeep Singh Slathia, Naresh Singh, Paramjit Singh, Bodh Raj, Sham Lal, Capt Madan Lal, Jiwan Sharma, Vishal Singh.
Quader Hussain,  general secretary and  Madan Lal  organising secretary conducted the proceedings, while the president BD Bari Chapter of DSS,   Swaran Singh highlighted the major problems facing the area. The three vice presidents Balwant Singh, Mohammad Din and Om Prakash also projected problems that mainly pertained to poor condition of roads, lanes and drains and a defunct ration supply system through PDS.  It was also brought out that the sewage water discharge and industrial waste is flowing into the canal polluting the water and rendering it unfit for domestic use and harmful for agricultural irrigation. The broken drains create puddles all over increasing the dangers of any dengue type epidemic.
From the executive body of  the DSS, Brig MS Jamwal   expressed the need of inter communal unity and vice president Prof Neel Kanth Sharma explained the aims and ethos of the DSS established in 1904 and its historical background. Col Dr Virendra K Sahi, the media convener analyzed the evil designs behind the recent disturbing incidents in Jammu region. He said the attack at Sunjwan, the raising of Pakistani slogans in Legislative Assembly, stone pelting at Sunjwan and giving communal colour to the sad heinous incident of Kathua are all part of the same evil design to disturb peace in Jammu region and falsely project as if the whole of J&K is on fire. He exhorted one and all, specially the youth not to fall prey to it and be vigilant and united maintaining strong communal harmony and respect of inter-religious sentiments.
Gulchain Singh Charak greeted and garlanded all the new office bearers and rested full faith in their local leadership to maintain traditional Dogriyat and brotherhood above any dividing lines. He also announced the appointment of a popular young social worker Vikas Singh as Convener of the youth wing of DSS Samba.
