JAMMU, Jan 11: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) is organizing a seminar titled “Dhiyan Dogren Dian–Ek Malati” to give due recognition to our Dogra women achievers of J&K who have excelled in various fields of academics, art, culture, administration, law and judiciary, education and research at State, national and international levels.
This was stated by DSS President Gulchain Singh Charak while interacting with media persons here today.
He informed that this unique get together of Dogra daughters is being organized on January 31 at 10:30 am at Dogra Sadar Sabha Bhawan, Dogra Hall Jammu to promote Dogriyat and Dogra culture and to honour the distinguished women achievers of the region.
“Selected available distinguished women achievers will be honoured and given a place of honour in a special gallery of outstanding achievers within the DSS complex as a mark of respect, recognition and keeping them ever alive for posterity. Such a gigantic task can only be fulfilled by profuse, willing and purposeful public participation. Therefore, the DSS has called for recommended names of any international, national and State level women achievers for inclusion”, Charak said, adding that the names with cabinet size photographs may be forwarded to DSS office by January 25. Names and photographs can also be forwarded online to Secretary DSS on dograsadarsabha1904-@gmail.com, he added.
Girl students who have secured gold medals and first positions in the University and Board Examination during the sessions 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 will also be honoured, he said, adding that they are advised to forward their details to the Secretary DSS by January 20.
Charak further informed that the participants desirous of presenting their views in the seminar on January 31 may also forward a synopsis to DSS office at Dogra Bhawan by January 20 and a copy of the papers (3-5 minutes) before presentation, since it may not be possible for the organizers to accommodate on the spot speakers.
Among others present were Prof NK Dogra, Col. KS Jamwal, Prem Sagar Gupta, Col Virendra K Sahi, Ghambir Dev Singh Charak, Prof Anita Billoria, Uma Katal, Santosh Magotra, Prof Vishav Raksha and Prof Hema Gandotra.
