JAMMU, Jan 6: Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today appealed the Union as well as UT Government for involvement of civil society in countering the nefarious designs of the terrorists.
Addressing media persons, DSS President Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak said that Pakistan has been trying to create a panic among the minority community in Jammu region as the hostile nation has thus far failed in its attempts of weakening the country by attempting regional, communal and social divide, particularly in Kashmir and Punjab regions.
Referring to Jammu region, Charak said: “By resorting to selective killings, drone dropping of ammunition and other incriminating material besides smuggling of drugs and arms through other means, Pakistan is now making attempts to communalise and vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in this part of the region.”
“But the chivalrous people of Jammu Division (Dogras) have always stood united, irrespective of religion and region, to thwart the evil designs of the enemy in the past and will continue to do so in future as well,” asserts Charak while appealing to Government to involve civil society in countering the terrorist designs.
The DSS President said that the desperate actions of Pakistan and Pakistan sponsored terrorists to terrorise the people will fail to deter the gallant people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Come what may, Pakistan will never succeed in creating community enmity, divide and hatred among the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
He was referring to the recent killing of six innocent civilians in Dangri village of Jammu’s Rajouri District.
Meanwhile, the DSS leader congratulated the security forces for killing four terrorists in an encounter in Sidhra area the other day.
He also hailed the UT Government’s move of reviving and revitalising the Village Defence Committees (VDCs) in the wake of recent spurt in terrorist attacks.
Those who accompanied Charak during the presser were Prem Sagar Gupta, General Secretary, DSS; Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, in-charge Youth Wingh; Amanat Ali Shah, Secretary; Mohan Sharma, Secretary Media Cell and Pawan Sharma.
