KARGIL, Mar 26: Department of Science and Technology (DST), Kargil, today organized a day-long awareness programme spread over two sessions here at New Academy Complex.
A jam packed hall comprising of around 450 higher secondary level students attended the programme, in which Executive Councilor for Health, LAHDC, Kargil, Mohsin Ali, was the chief guest.
In the first session titled ‘Meet Your Medical Expert’, four health specialists from Health Department, Kargil delivered their presentations on varied issues pertaining to health and hygiene. The specialists included Dr Sajjad Hussain (Dermatologist), Dr Shabir Hussain (Dental Surgeon), Dr Anwar Hussain (Pediatrician) and Dr Zakir Hussain (Block Medical Officer, Trespone).
The 2nd session was an Inter School Debate Competition on the Importance of Water Sanitation and Conservation, in which six students spoke in detail about the importance of water sanitation and conservation and also highlighted the various ways and means in this regard.
Kaneez Fatima of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kargil won the first prize, Aquila Kousar of Jaffaria Academy of Modern Education claimed second prize and Vilayat Ali of Boys Higher Secondary School Kargil won the third prize.
