DSW JU stages ‘Ek Dhoop Safed Si’

JAMMU, Sept 14: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu staged a Hindi Play “Ek Dhoop Safed Si” written and directed by Rajneesh Gupta at Brigadier Rajinder Singh auditorium.
The play was based on the plight of those parents, whose wards have settled abroad. It was a thoroughly social play and gave a lesson to all the generations, especially youth, who are attracted towards Western culture and forget their native land.
Prof Jasbir Singh, Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, was the chief guest, who while speaking, said that such programmes disseminate knowledge of our rich cultural heritage amongst the younger generation and highlight the social problems prevalent in the society.
The superb acting by the senior artists Santosh Sangra and Rajesh Raina, mesmerized the audiences. Sudesh Kumar also did justice while playing the character of Raju. Makeup by Neetu and management by Sanjay Rohmetra, supported the production.
The mementos were presented to all the artists.
Among others present were Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof Neeru Sharma, Prof Arti Bakshi, Dr Shailendra Singh, Dr Karuna Thakur, etc.
The proceedings were conducted by Nidhi Kaila, secretary, Students Cultural Council.
