DTF holds meet for Pulse Polio Immunization at Samba

SAMBA, Jan 11: A meeting of District Task Force for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization campaign was held under chairpersonship of DDC Samba Sheetal Nanda today.
The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Samba Rajeev Sharma, Medical Superintendent Samba Arun Sharma, members of DTF and representatives from Non Government organisations.
The meeting was informed that Samba comes under Medium Risk District category and campaign assumes significance to check complacency, lack of focus and fear of importation from neighbouring countries. In Samba 1383 vaccinators will be involved along with 69 supervisors for vaccination process at 341 booths on  January 17.
On January 18 & 19 door to door campaign will be launched to cover any leftover cases so that 100% immunization target could be achieved. The daily progress will be updated by respective BMOs to CMO who will further evaluate and submit the progress achieved in the campaign.
The DDC enquired about the logistics, storage facilities and preparedness of the Medical Department regarding the 3 day campaign. She directed for making concentrated efforts on high risk areas of blocks, industrial areas and slum areas. She further directed to ensure the inclusion of children between 3-5 years age of private schools so that no child is left uncovered.
