JAMMU, Aug 31: Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM), Northern Railways, Jammu, R N Meena was accorded an emotional send off by the Railway Staff and officers of  Crime and Railways during an impressive function at Jammu Railway Station this afternoon.
Mr Meena served the Railways department at various positions including Station Master and Station Superintendent  prior to this posting for over 36 years. He served at Jammu Station of the Northern Railways for about four and half years and earned great respect and love from the people from all walks of life.
Station Manager,  Ashwani Kumar, SP GRP  Suram Singh, DySP Rilways Jammu Devinder Singh,  Chief Reservation Supervisor Rakesh Kalra, SHO Railways Neeraj Choudhary, Branch secretary Northern Railways Employees Union Vijay Singh, Dr Pankaj from NR,  and several other senior officers lauded the services and qualities of Mr Meena and said that such type of officers and individuals are very rare. Ist Station Master of Jammu, who happens to be the local, Y N Gupta, while according emotional send off to Mr Meena recalled his services at Jammu Station during 1972-73 when first rail reached Jammu and said that Jammu Station progressed a lot thereafter in terms of infrastructure. Even 15 trains have been introduced in last four years during the tenure of Mr Meena.
State president of  BSP Tarsem Khullar who is also a senior former Railway employee and State Coordinator of the BSP, Gurnam Choudhary and All India Jat Sabha vice president Kamal Choudhary also spoke on the occasion. Mr Khullar said that party president Kumari Mayawati has offered a good position to Mr Meena in the party in his home state Rajasthan after retirement. They all wished  good health and prosperous life ahead for Mr Meena.
