Duggar Manch releases Katal’s poetry book ‘Hirkhi Chete’

JAMMU, July 2: Dogri poetry book “Hirkhi Chete”, penned by prominent folk singer and performer C S. Katal, was released here today during an impressive function organized by Duggar Manch, wherein Minister for Forest Choudhary Lal Singh was the chief guest.
Rajinder Singh Katal of Punjab was special guest and veteran Dogri writer Narsingh Dev Jamwal presided over the function, which was also graced by prominent writers and artists.

“Hirkhi Chete” is Katal’s first published book, which is divided into five parts. Sunita Bhadwal, a prominent Dogri-Hindi writer, presented a paper in which she analyzed the book with critical appreciation.
Choudhary Lal Singh appreciated the author as well as the contribution of Duggar Manch in the field of literature and art and to popularized Dogri street plays in any nook and corner.
Katal entered in the Dogri literary field with a passion to serve Dogri and penned some beautiful songs and couplets. A musical program was presented by Katal and party, which was highly praised by one and all.
Mohan Singh, president Duggar Manch, in his welcome address, requested the people of Duggar for the safeguard of mother-language Dogri and feel proud to be Dogras. This is a very crucial time for regional languages and we must aware of it, he stressed.
Rajinder Singh Katal from Punjab, in his address, informed the audience that adjoining part of Jammu which falls under political boundary of Punjab in real sense is a part of Duggar as our language and culture is the same with very little variation.
Narsingh Dev Jamwal, in his presidential address, appreciated the effort of Katal and congratulated the author. He further added that publications of Dogri books are good sign for Dogri language and its future.
