KISHTWAR, May 15: Construction workers of Dulhasti Power Station Kishtwar observed a complete one-day strike against the alleged callous attitude of the Power Project management towards implementation of genuine demands of the contract labours.
The protesting workers were addressed by J L Parihar, who demanded immediate redressal of long pending demands like implementation of wages as per notification issued by the Central Government, issuance of identity cards, EPF statements, implementation of ESI scheme, timely payment of wages, re-engaging ousted labourers etc.
The Union leaders warned to go on indefinite strike if demands of the workers are not conceded by the management.
Those who addressed the workers, included Susheel Kumar, Rajesh Sen, Ijaz Ahmed and Sahid Hussain.
