JAMMU, Apr 24: Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education (H&ME) Department, Atal Dulloo, today flagged off the four-day visit of ASHAs and ASHA Supervisory cadre of J&K to the state of Chhattisgarh.
The flag off ceremony was organized by the National Health Mission, Jammu. A team of about 70 participants including ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists), ASHA Facilitators, Block ASHA Coordinators, District ASHA Coordinators and District/State Programme Management Units of the State shall visit the state of Chhattisgarh which is pioneer in ASHA programme.
During the visit, ASHAs from the State will observe various activities in the community processes like Village Health and Nutrition Days, functioning of Village Health Sanitation and Nutrition Committees, Home Based New born Care, Gram Sabha, functioning of Panchayati Raj Institutions, Health & Wellness Centres, MAS Trainings and various other best practices. Further best innovations in the health care at grass root & community level will also be observed so that the same are replicated in our state for providing the best health care in the State.
Present on the occasion were Bhupinder Kumar, Mission Director NHM, J&K; Dr Sameer Mattoo, Director Health Services Jammu; Officers from Directorate of Health Services, Programme Management Units of State Health Society, National Health Mission, J&K.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary impressed upon the ASHAs and ASHA cadre to work with zeal and enthusiasm so that the State remains one among the top rankers for its best practices and innovations in ASHA programme.
This interstate exposure visit will encourage ASHAs and ASHA cadre in the State to work towards achieving standards of excellence regarding implementation of ASHA Programme in the State.
