RAJOURI, Mar 20: Honouring the work of exceptional covid management, Block Medical Officer Kandi of district Rajouri, Dr Iqbal Malik, has been awarded by the UT Government.
Dr Iqbal has been bestowed with the Award-cum Certificate of Appreciation by Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education Atal Dulloo in recognition of the selfless services rendered by him at the time of Corona pandemic.
“Thank you for all that you do. You are the real hero of the Union Territory and we value every single effort to save every life during these challenging times. Your courage and strength are greatly appreciated,” Dulloo said in his letter of appreciation to Dr Iqbal Malik.
Dr Malik’s contribution to the covid management has been immense, one of his success stories is from village Pateli Draj of Block Koteranka where there were 36 cases in a day in July 2020, he held a week-long camp and isolated every contact of the infected person thereafter eliminating the virus completely. Dr Iqbal is known to be a very people-friendly BMO. He is known for his endeavours to provide medicines, medical certificates and other services at the doorsteps of people.
