KISHTWAR, Apr 30: Former R&B Minister and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today informed the people of Bunjwah that the order of handing over of vital Dunadi-Bunjwah road has been issued by the Government.
He added that very soon Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Company (JKPCC) will hand over Dunadi-Bunjwah road, which is in deplorable condition due to poor maintenance by the executing agency JKPCC, to Roads and Building (R&B) Division Kishtwar.
“Hopefully the condition of the road would improve in the months to come. People would take a sigh of relief”, Saroori said and added that roads are the lifeline for the people living in a country like India which have 75-80% of rural population likewise it also plays vital role in the development of the area, and thereby gearing up Nation’s economy.
He sorted that the tendering process should be done at the earliest on the very pattern of Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) so that the contractors who would be going to execute the work must be having all the equipments, men and machinery well in place for the early execution of the road.
“During the year 2010— I got Rs 15 crore sanctioned under Central Road Fund (CRF) which is Non-lapsable, out of which JKPCC made an expenditure of 7 crores on the said road– but in reality even work of single penny is not visible on ground”, Saroori said and added that “I smell some foul, so I demanded for a thorough probe into the expenditure incurred by JKPCC”.
While lambasting the JKPCC authorities for poor maintenance and bungling of funds, Saroori demanded a thorough probe into the expenditure of crores of rupees made by the executing agency without any fruitful result on ground.
