Durga Nagar Committee discusses problems

JAMMU, Jan 13: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Bihari Lal its general secretary in which various problems of the area were discussed.
The meting, while discussing identification of land on payment basis for construction of OHT, issuance of permits for the local youth to run Magic Autos and providing of transport facility in the area, urged the authorities to concede these demands without further delay.
It expressed concern that electronic bus service from Durga Nagar to Indira Chowk has been diverted to Bantalab and other areas where 30 to 50 matadors are available for passengers on daily basis. The meeting while seeking intervention of concerned higher authorities in the Government urged them to seek explanation from concerned officers that why transport facilities were diverted to other areas from Durga Nagar.
The meeting was informed that the authorities in principle have agreed to set up dispensary at Durga Nagar. The meeting said that for construction of lanes and drains some estimates have been framed and others will be prepared in few days so that the tenders for the works are invited.
