JAMMU, July 5: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee general secretary, Bihari Lal Raina met MD Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Ltd (JPDCL) in his office chamber and apprised him the problem of migrant families with the present system of bill deposition through online portal.
The system has caused difficulties to the migrant families of Durga Nagar Sec 1, Sector 2, Sector 3, Roop Nagar, Dogra Nagar and adjoining areas in review of paying the bills. The migrants are already in exile and it has added more anxiety as the older and uneducated cannot follow the online system of paying bills as their educated members are serving outside the State and therefore the old system of paying bills through banks should be continued.
The MD of the Electric Department heard the problem patiently and read the representation line by line and assured the general secretary that due steps will be taken very soon in this system of paying bills. Earlier R.L Raina, president, Durga Nagar Welfare Committee and Sanjay Ganjoo had discussed the same issue thoroughly with the MD.
