Durga Nagar Committee submits memorandum to Government

JAMMU, Mar 23: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee today submitted a memorandum to Chief Secretary and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah highlighting various burning issues of displaced people.
The memorandum which has been sent through email demanded enhancement of relief to displaced people from Valley, construction of 1000 one room tenements at Purkhoo, waiving of referring ban to chronic patients, releasing of funds to non camp areas for providing the basic amenities like schools, medical facilities, electricity, water and roads to the people living there, adjustment of ACR in Relief Office Jammu and DCR in Srinagar immediately.
Later a deputation led by Roshan Lal Raina president of the Committee met Commissioner, Secretary PHE and Principal Secretary R&B. They urged the Commissioner Secretary, PHE that in view of coming Summer the proper water supply be arranged in Durga Nagar and other localities. It also demanded construction of new tube well immediately.
With Principal Secretary R&B the problem of roads and lanes in Durga Nagar area was discussed which are in dilapidated condition. He was urged to issue directives to concerned officers to start the blacktopping work in the area. Raina also demanded that laying of tiles in lanes in Sector 1 and 2 in Durga Nagar be started before April 15.
