JAMMU, Feb 22: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee has made an appeal to Power and PHE authorities to ensure the water and power supply on the occasion of Maha Shivratri from February 27 to March 1.
In a meeting held here, today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina its president it demanded that there should be no shutdown of power on these days as power cuts will hamper the water supply also. Raina said that both power and water supply be maintained on these three days as Maha Shivratri is a sacred festival of Kashmiri Pandits and authorities should ensure that the displaced Pandits will not be put to problems on account of erratic power and water supply.
The meeting which was addressed by Ravinder Bakshi, chairman of the Committee and Bharat Bushan Gowsani a senior office bearer also urged the PDD authorities not to enforce shut down on Feeder 9 and 10 at Muthi Gaon as the same affects water supply in entire Durga Nagar and adjoining localities .
