Durga Nagar Committee’s plea to PM , HM

JAMMU, Sept 16: Durga Nagar Welfare Committee in a meeting here, today discussed various problems of Kashmiri migrants.
The meeting was chaired by Roshan Lal Raina president of the Committee and it through an email submitted charter of demands to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Home Minister, Amit Shah and Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha demanding hike in cash relief from Rs 13000, to Rs 25,000 in view of the skyrocketing prices and the migrants are unable to make their both ends meet on the meagre cash relief.
The letter also demanded immediate release of suspended ration to migrant relief holders who were not issued the same for last three months with the result they are facing hardships as the relief holders are not in a position to purchase the ration from market.
Highlighting the problems of PM package and non package Hindu employees posted in Kashmiri Valley the letter demanded their immediate relocation to Jammu so that their security concerns are addressed. Besides the salaries of those employees which has been kept withheld be released at an earliest.
It also demanded providing of facilities to the camp inmates residing in different camps in Jammu. The medical reimbursement scheme benefits be provided to migrants. The meeting also appealed the L:G Manoj Sinha to visit non camp areas in Jammu to ascertain the problems of displaced people.
