JAMMU, Nov 28: A delegation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) led by its president, Roshan Lal Raina called on Chief Engineer, PHE, Jammu and SE, PHE Urban and demanded that the tube wells at Durga Nagar and Muthi which are damaged be renovated immediately so that the water supply does not remain affected for long time.
The delegation said that the water supply gap has already increased in the area as the water is now supplied twice a week instead of daily basis.
The delegation demanded that the water be supplied on daily basis or at least on alternative days so that the people are not put to more problems.
The deputation expressed concern over delay in renovation of the tube wells which are the lifeline for the people in the area. It also demanded plugging of leakages in water pipes.
The other members of the delegation included Behari Lal, C L Zutshi, Bushan Lal, A K Bazaz, Nana Ji, Badri Nath and M L Pandita.
Later in an appeal to Governor the Committee demanded opening of Dispensary at Durga Nagar which has a population of over 15,000 people.
