JAMMU, Aug 4: A deputation of Welfare Committee Sector-01, Sector-02 and Sector-03 headed by Roshan Lal Raina, president Sector-01 and 03 and Sanjay Ganjoo president Sector-02 and its extension along with Bihari Lal Raina general secretary Sector-01 and Jawahirlal Raina treasurer Sector-02 met Municipal Commissioner, Jammu Municipality and apprised him of the problem of non functioning tube well at Durga Nagar Park from last 25 days which has caused acute water scarcity in entire Durga Nagar.
The deputation also demanded allotment of funds to the tune of Rs five lac immediately for redevelopment of the defunct Tube Well which the latter agreed.
Later on the deputation meet Executive Engineer, Mechanical, PHE who was awarded the allotment of funds and urged him that work be started immediately.
The deputation also discussed the issue of distribution of water to overcome the difficulty of nonfunctional tube well till it gets proper functional. It was decided that the water distribution to Durga Nagar OHT Tank from Muthi village be provided from12 noon to 8.00 P.M in the evening.
The deputation appealed the Chief Engineer, PDD and XEN Division-3rd PDD not to take any shutdown or any curtailment on the essential service otherwise water supply will prolong. The deputation also met Vice Chairman, JDA and presented the papers of PHE Department for issuing NOC for the construction of tube well and OHT at Rajinder Nagar.
Vice chairman assured the delegation that sympathetic action in the matter will be taken very soon. The deputation expressed that it is the only source through which water scarcity problem will be solved.
