Durga Nagar residents’ delegation calls on Advisor to Governor

JAMMU, Dec 4: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee led by Roshan Lal Raina called on Advisor to Governor, K K Sharma here ,today and apprised him of the water crisis persisting in Durga Nagar and Dogra Nagar area.
The delegation informed the advisor that the motor of the tube well at Durga Nagar was damaged and after its repairing it was not installed with the result the people in Durga Nagar and other feeding areas continue to face water crisis.
It demanded that the fresh motor be issued for Durga Nagar tube well as the old one gets damaged off and on and a standing motor be kept at Muthi village which lifts water from Muthi tube well to Durga Nagar.
The deputation also informed the Advisor that the water supply is made to Durga Nagar late and it’s timing should be from 11 am to 11-30 am so that the Durga Nagar sump gets filled within time otherwise supplying water in late hours has resulted into the prevailing situation.
It further demanded construction of new tube well as well as new OHT in the area so that the problem is settled permanently. It demanded installation of pipeline at Kailashpati Lane and plugging of leakages. Besides, establishment of dispensary at Durga Nagar and replacement of damaged electric lines. The condition of roads, lanes and drains was also discussed and their renovation was demanded. A plea for opening of JK Bank ATM was also made before the Advisor.
