Durga Nagar residents protest against power, water crisis

JAMMU, July 1: Durga Nagar Sector 3 residents staged a protest against increasing power cuts and irregular water supply in this hot and humid weather.
The protestors alleged that both the departments have failed to ensure regular power and water supply in the area putting the people to lot of trouble.
Later a meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Society Sector 3 was held at Durga Nagar under the leadership of Rattan Lal Bhan, chairman All India Kashmiri Hindu Forum (AIKHF) and ex member Apex Committee J&K Government.
The meeting elected R L Bhan as the president of the Welfare Committee while Chand Ji Ambardar was elected as vice president. Surinder Kumar Pandita was elected as general secretary and Chuni Lal Bhat as cashier.
Addressing the meeting Bhan urged the authorities of two departments to take immediate steps in solving the problems of people and improve water and power supply in the area.
He said he will leave no stone unturned and will take up the issue to higher ups in the Government including Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha in case the issue was not settled within days by the twin departments.
