Durga Nagar Welfare Committee deputation calls on CEs, RRC

JAMMU, Apr 27: A deputation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee (DNWC) led by its president Roshan Lal Raina today called on Chief Engineer (CE), PHE and informed him about the shortage of drinking water faced by inhabitants of Durga Nagar and adjoining areas.
The delegation informed CE that the water supply gap during these hot days has prolonged which needs immediate attention of the authorities. The deputation also expressed that all leakages be plugged so that the water is not wasted.
The deputation which also called on Chief Engineer, PDD(M&RE) Sudhir Gupta urged him to assure regular power supply to Muthi and Durga Nagar feeders so that water supply is not hampered during the Summer season.
The deputation later met the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, (RRC) Migrants, Jammu, T K Bhat and apprised him of various problems of the residents of the area. Later the deputation called on Executive Engineer, R&B and other officers of the Department and demanded that Water Tank lane, Durga Nagar Enclave Lane and other surrounding lanes be blacktopped immediately.
The Committee has made an appeal to Chairman JK Bank for establishing an ATM at Durga Nagar Sector 2 and posting of adequate staff at Durga Nagar JK Bank. In an appeal to Director Health Services the Committee demanded that all formalities for establishing Health Centre at Durga Nagar be completed immediately. It also urged JMC Commissioner to issue instructions to staff to replace damaged lamps in the area.
