JAMMU, Sept 30: A meeting of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee was held today under the chairmanship of Roshan Lal Raina, president of the Committee.
The meeting was attended by all the members of the Committee including Bihari Lal its general secretary, C L Zuthsi, Bansi Lal, Nana Ji etc in which an appeal was made to Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to approve the list of magic autos so that the transport facilities will be available in Durga Nagar , Suran Vihar, Dogra Nagar and other areas. It said that the people of area are facing lot of difficulties due to lack of transport facilities for last three years.
The meeting also made an appeal to Governor to implement the PM’s various schemes for the welfare of displaced Pandits also. It also demanded that the reservation benefits under Economic weaker sections be given to Pandits also as till that no such order has been issued by Government to bring pundits under the purview of this law.
It also demanded renovation of lanes and roads in Durga Nagar area and appealed Chief Engineer, PHE provide water supply on alternative days in Durga Nagar and also better power supply.
