The meeting said that despite their pleas to PHE authorities from time to time to settle the water crisis issue no tangible results were achieved forcing the people to chose the agitational path.
The meeting said the residents of Durganagar and Dogranagar are facing acute shortage of water during this hot Summer. This problem has been constantly faced by them for last over 30 years.
They said the area is receiving tap water after gap of five to six days or more. This is the common problem throughout the year, they added.
The residents said that Durganagar which is totally dependant on Muthi pumping station where either motor becomes defunct or Feeder No.MU09 at CPS Muthi develops a problem or with the pretext of other issues the water supply to the area gets hampered.
The residents said they have requested so many times to the Department to keep standby motor of the same capacity at Muthi pumping station so that problem of water crises may not arise and Department has always turned a deaf ear forcing the people to launch agitation.
