JAMMU, Sept 13: BJP Kashmir Displaced District (KDD) observed Martyrs’ Day at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar here today to pay floral tribute to former vice president of the party and an RSS ideologue Tika Lal Taploo on his 35th Shaheedi Divas.
Dushyant Kumar Gautam, BJP national general secretary, J&K BJP president, Ravinder Raina and general secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul were among other party leaders who paid tribute to Taploo.
Former MLC , Ajey Bharti and party spokesperson/ Prabhari KDD and Seh-Prabhari, Hira Lal Bhat were amongst the other prominent present on the occasion.
Homage was paid to Tika Lal Taploo , Pt. Prem Nath Bhat and to all those martyrs who attained martyrdom during the last 34 years in J&K including Army, paramilitary, police personnel while fighting anti nationals and Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
Two minutes of silence was observed as a mark of respect to martyrs. A documentary film on Amar Shaheed, Tika Lal Taploo was also shown on the occasion and Martyrs’ Photo Gallery set up by KDD Yuva Morcha.
Dushyant Kumar Gautam while paying tribute to Amar Shaheed Tika Lal Taploo termed him the tallest nationalist leader of Kashmir, who was known to all communities and earned love and respect from all the sects of the society. His supreme sacrifice for the nation will always be remembered.
Ravinder Raina said that he was a prominent figure of BJP in Kashmir and his aim was to strengthen the nationalist forces and defeat the design of anti-national forces. He was a popular leader among all communities because he was always available to needy people for help irrespective of caste, creed or religion.
Ashok Koul said that he was a great leader of BJP, social activist and sympathetic friend of the poor and needy. He served as vice president of BJP and he never compromised on his principles. He said that his influence, popularity and political vision was unmatched among Kashmiri Hindus and other communities too. He was popularly called as Lala by Muslim community and his popularity among Muslims became a major challenge for terrorists.
Ajey Bharti termed him as leader of masses and loud & forceful voice of poor and common masses. He enjoyed good leadership qualities and he was a selfless, fearless nationalist leader, committed to human values. Because of his connection with common masses, he commanded respect across the political spectrum of Kashmir.
Chand Ji Bhat threw light on his life and said Tika Lal joined Kashmir Bar Association to seek justice for poor, downtrodden people, without charging any fee. He was a long time member of RSS. He further said Taploo was the first Kashmiri Pandit leader who was assassinated by terrorists on September 13 in 1989. The reason to kill him was to terrify the Hindu minorities in Kashmir as a prelude to their ethnic cleansing and genocide.
Hira Lal Bhat termed Tika Lal Taploo a great patriot who lived and died for his nation. He was a roaring lion who challenged the gun wielding militants, he added. On this occasion, 12 families of martyrs were honoured and a citation and shawl was given to each martyr family.
